The Scirocco Scala

My first VW, a 1987 Scirocco Scala 1.8 Bought in April 1997, it needed very little work to bring the bodywork up to a very nice standard. with no rust, and just a few stonechips, which I quickly fixed. The standard suspension left a lot to be desired, in both handling, and looks. Although I felt the Scala's standard alloys suited the car, they were beginning to look a little scruffy. A full stainless steel exhaust system was fitted in 1999, with a Janspeed tubular manifold.

Just over a year later, And my Scala's looking a little different, Koni shocks, and springs have lowered the car nicely, and a set of new 15 inch alloys. I removed the black bump stripes, which I felt spoiled the lines of the car. Clear indicator lenses, and side repeaters which I found at Volks Bits, just add to the whole effect. Finally a Fuba on the back instead of the standard wing mount aerial.

October 2002,   Several times over the last couple of years, people have knocked my Scala around. The passenger door was caved in, and the front wing on the same side damaged. While I have repaired it each time, the car isn't looking quite as good these days. I'm now using a BMW 530i as my 'Daily Driver', but I've kept the Scala, and hope to bring her back to spotless condition once more, when finances permit.
